THE CASK OF AMONTILLADO stars John Astin as Montresor and Mark Redfield as Fortunato. The play was adapted from Poe's short story and directed by Tony Tsendeas.

Poe Forevermore Radio Theater brings you adaptations of contemporary and classic tales of mystery, horror and the imagination. The series is produced and hosted by its creator Mark Redfield.
Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado" was published in November 1846, in Godey's Lady's Book. This performance of Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado" was recorded before a live audience on June 22nd, 2013 at Westminster Hall Burial Grounds, in Baltimore, Maryland, where Edgar Allan Poe is buried.

I listened to this play on my drive in to work this morning, and it is really terrific. It is adapted from the Poe story, slightly updated but retaining all the Poe chills and charm. Mark Redfield is especially impressive as Fortunato, and it is great to hear fan favorite John Astin at work as well. Poe Forevermore - Saving the Poe House and Museum in Baltimore

The multi-talented Mark Redfield - director, writer, publisher and artist - painted this beautiful caricature of Gomez Addams. It is titled Tish, That's french! It's (obviously) based on the John Astin portrayal of Gomez from the Addams Family TV series - and John himself autographed this painting at a Poeforevermore event on March 3rd, 2012.

My good friend Mark Redfield, filmmaker in the Baltimore, MD area, just clued me in on a disturbing event that YOU can help. The city of Baltimore has cut funding to the historic Poe House and Museum in Baltimore. After 2012 they won't fund it any longer.

recommended Movie of the Week - Jekyll and Hyde

This week's recommended movie is the 2002 Mark Redfield movie Jekyll and Hyde. it's a fantastic independent movie written, directed and starring Mark as the mad doctor himself. His performance as Mr. Hyde is easily as good as any ever put on film. Check it out - We aired this one on my program once, and I'm proud to say it was the television debut of this movie.

Happy 200th birthday, Poe!

January 19, 1809 is the birthdate of Edgar Allen Poe. He would have been 200 years old this year, and I just wanted to take this time to pay homage to this great American author. Happy birthday, Edgar!
